Enrico Perroni, an Italian artist and influential designer, led one of the world's most distinguished studios for original textile art from the 1960s through the 1990s. Based in the design hubs of Como, Milano, and Rome, Perroni's studio collaborated with prestigious names such as Scalamandre,
Valentino, Lancetti, Saint Laurent, and Gustav Zumsteg of Abraham.
Though a private man, Enrico loved his friends in Milan and Rome. He was close with the Fendi sisters and dined with Marisa Berenson and Roberto Rossellini. In New York he danced at Studio 54 with Truman Capote.
Enrico Perroni was an artist of refined taste, his projects took him all over Europe, Japan, Australia, and America. His wonderful home on Via Sebeto was photographed for Vogue in the mid-1970s.
The Design Library is proud to have acquired the complete archive of the Enrico Perroni Studio. Hundreds of original textile designs are now unpacked, catalogued and ready for your viewing.
